About us

We are a bible believing community who are on the road to eternity. We strive to reach our wider community with the saving love of Jesus and to invite them to share the road with us.

We believe in the 39 Articles, the creeds and most of all the Bible as they were written and expounded over the centuries.

Jesus wants us to come as we are to him; ask him to forgive us and for Jesus to be the Lord and Saviour of our lives. (Matthew 19:14; Matthew 16:24, John 3:16)

Meet the Team

  • Rev. Peter Palmer

    Minister

Rev Peter is our leader as we walk the road together toward eternity. Rev has many miles under his belt as a leader and missionary.

He began in 1989 by studying at The Bible College of Queensland (now BST) and, with his wife Joy and their 2 babies, Sarah and Joshua, spent 6 years in Numbulwar, Arnhem Land, with the Church Missionary Society. They worked with the local people with youth work, Church revitalisation, as well as Alcohol and Substance Abuse Mentoring. They completed their mission and returned to Brisbane.

They worked for the Anglican Diocese of Southern QLD running a Hostel for tertiary students from the country at Nundah. This lasted 5 years while he finished his Advanced Diploma in Ministry. Peter was ordained as a priest in 2000.

Supported by the Bush Church Aid Society (BCA), the Family moved to Wyndham in the Kimberly where Peter rebuilt a church which had just one faithful lady. Peter and Joy both worked part-time as tent makers in the town and worked in 2 communities – Wyndham and Oombulgurri, reminding people of the Gospel.

After 6 years Peter and Joy moved to Coober Pedy in SA to work with the Catacomb Church – an Anglican church begun by BCA in the opal rush era. The church was made up of 8 different denominations every Sunday, which was always exciting.

They were then asked by different mining companies to be a Fly in Fly out (FIFO) Chaplain. This was a totally new adventure and the rules were written as he worked. Many friendships were made, lives saved, and people came to know Jesus Christ as Lord through this ministry.

Peter and Joy then returned to the Southern QLD Anglican diocese leading the wonderful people at St Georges Beenleigh for 6 years.

In August 2022, Peter moved from the Diocese to form an independent Anglican Church in Beenleigh. This church follows the teaching of the Bible as written and canonised by the Church fathers. A church was formed at the Beenleigh Mt Warren Park RSL club.

Rev Peter is down to earth, speaks plainly, loves the Lord Jesus and preaching the Bible. He is a very pastoral person who visits people in their time of need, as well as their times of joy. One thing he is not (which he admits to openly) is he is not an administrator; paper work is not his thing.

Please find time to come and meet Peter and the rest of the church people as we discover the truths of the Bible through worship each Sunday at the RSL at 9am.
